Find Levy County Released Inmates

Levy County released inmates no longer appear as active detainees once a county booking closes. A Levy County released inmate search must therefore follow the record beyond the live jail roster. County release events, court documents, state corrections records, supervision data, and federal locators answer different parts of the question. To search for Levy County released inmates, first identify which agency last held the person and whether the event was a community release or a transfer. Levy County released inmates may still have an open court case, a supervision term, or custody under another agency.

Levy County Released Inmate Records

A release is the end of one custody event. It is not always the end of all custody. The Levy County Sheriff’s Office Detention Bureau records local bookings and departures. Its official JailTracker can show current detainees and recent releases. A person sent from the jail to the Florida Department of Corrections, another county, federal authorities, or immigration custody has left LCSO custody but has not made a community release.

Community departures may follow bond, release on recognizance, time served, sentence completion, dismissal, or another court order. Probation can follow a jail stay without a state-prison term. Parole and other post-prison programs apply only in defined cases. A transfer closes the county booking while another agency takes control. The release event and its destination decide which record to check next.

Discharge
The end of a custody or supervision term recorded by the responsible agency.
Time served
A sentence outcome crediting time already spent in custody.
Detainer
A request or legal hold that can move the person to another authority.
Probation
Court-ordered supervision in the community, often administered by FDC in Florida.

Levy County Inmate Release Types

The wording on the record matters. Bond means a financial or surety condition was met, not that the charge ended. Recognizance permits release without the full monetary bond, subject to court terms. A dismissal or acquittal is a case result, while a transfer is a custody move. One person can also have more than one case or hold. A release order in one matter may not end confinement on another.

Levy County Release Record Fields

A useful county record identifies the person, the booking, the releasing agency, and the precise event. JailTracker is helpful for recent dates, but its grid does not expose the release reason or a time-stamped rolling window. Ask for the underlying booking, movement, or release event when the destination is important. A booking photograph ties an image to that booking, but it does not prove guilt or show present custody.

FieldWhat it shows
Name and identifiersThe person and the booking or jacket number tied to the event
Booking date and timeWhen the LCSO custody episode began
Release date and timeWhen that booking ended, with exact time if held in the event record
Release event or codeBond, time served, court order, transfer, or another recorded basis
DestinationCommunity or the agency that received custody
Case, charge, and bondThe related booking data, not a final finding of guilt
Holds or detainersWhether another authority had a claim on custody

A final release date proves departure from LCSO custody. It does not, by itself, prove return to the community.

Request Levy County Release Records

The sheriff accepts requests through its public-records instructions and NextRequest portal. A requester need not know the formal title of the record. Describe the booking and the facts sought. Do not place unnecessary sensitive data in the public request. No fixed LCSO response time or universal booking-photo fee was found, so ask for a cost estimate before work begins.

  1. Identify the person by full name, approximate booking dates, and a public booking number if known.
  2. Request the booking sheet and release or movement event, including date, time, type, destination, releasable holds, and booking photograph.
  3. Ask for electronic delivery and set a dollar amount above which the agency should seek approval.
  4. If a code is unclear, request the maintained code legend or data dictionary.
  5. Compare the response with the related court, FDC, federal, or receiving-agency record.

Levy County Release Records Law

Article I, section 24 of the Florida Constitution and Florida Statutes chapter 119 form the public-access framework. Section 119.07 covers inspection, copying, and permitted charges. Section 119.071 contains exemptions. Protected investigative, victim, medical, identity, juvenile, sealed, or expunged material may be withheld or redacted. The custodian should identify the legal basis for a withholding.

A seven-day or thirty-day web option is not a legal retention schedule. It only defines what the interface conveniently displays. Sealing and expunction under sections 943.059 and 943.0585 can limit public visibility after court-ordered relief. They do not turn a missing web result into proof that no custody event occurred. Ask the custodian which retention schedule applies if that question is material.

Getting Home After Levy Release

Florida Statutes section 951.04 provides transportation, or equivalent money, back to the place from which sentenced for a county prisoner discharged after serving the sentence or on pardon or parole. That rule should not be extended to every bond or dismissal. The exact release type controls. Ask the jail how the provision applies to the recorded event.

Levy County Transit offers general-public, door-to-door service. Its published office hours are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., and operations run 3 a.m. to 6 p.m. except holidays. The service does not promise an on-demand jail-gate pickup. Call 352-486-3485 or 800-733-5389 in advance to confirm eligibility, timing, and pickup details.

Levy Release Mail and Photos

LCSO publishes a distinct post-release digital option. A former detainee may use the inmate number and password at Smart Jail Mail to download personal photos, messages, and scanned postal mail at no charge. Request, grievance, and medical forms are not available through that access, and the user cannot reply after release.

Read LCSO’s Smart Jail Mail instructions for the post-release account rule.

These are private account items for the former account holder. They are not the public booking photograph or an official release database.

Find a Released Levy County Inmate

Start with the agency that last held the person. A live roster answers whether an LCSO booking is active. Historical records answer what happened after it ended. Names can create false negatives, so test lawful surname and alias variations offered by the official tool, then match with a date of birth or official identifier. Never treat a missing name as a confirmed release.

  1. Search official Levy JailTracker in Current Only, Released, and All modes. Record the booking identifier and final release date.
  2. Test for transfer by checking FDC, BOP, or ICE when the case or county event points to one of those systems.
  3. Call the Detention Bureau or request the release event, including its time, type, and destination.
  4. Read the Levy Clerk file for bond, dismissal, sentence, commitment, and warrant entries.
  5. Check FDC supervision or FCOR action when obligations may continue in the community.
  6. Use VINE for notice and corroborate any alert with the record owner.

A released person normally drops off the live jail roster. Use the release event, court file, or receiving system to learn what happened next.

Levy County Recent Release Search

Official JailTracker offers Current Only, All, and Released. Released provides seven-day and thirty-day options, not exact twenty-four-hour or seventy-two-hour feeds. The visible release grid uses a date rather than a precise rolling-hour boundary. For a same-day question, select Released and seven days, compare the final release dates, then ask LCSO for the event timestamp.

No update cadence or full online retention guarantee was verified. The grid can show names, original booking dates, final release dates, a detail view, and image controls, while other fields depend on agency configuration. The reviewed interface did not expose the release reason. Sheriff press releases and social posts are selective news channels, not a complete release log. No official LCSO inmate-release mobile app was verified.

Does a recent date mean the person is free? No. It confirms that the LCSO booking ended. Request the destination and check the receiving agency when transfer is possible.

Levy Court Release Record Check

The Levy Clerk’s access pages require care. The electronic-access page describes registration and generally daily updates, while the felony page says criminal records are not online. Do not assume the web portal supplies a complete criminal file. Call the Criminal Department at 352-486-5266 for the docket or final document. Court copies are published at $1 per page, and the courthouse hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Check the Levy felony-record access warning before relying on online results.

A docket view can orient the search. A certified bond order, dismissal, judgment, or sentence is stronger proof of what the court ordered, while LCSO still proves the physical custody event.

Levy County Post-Release Supervision

FDC Community Corrections supervises probation, community control, and several post-prison programs. The Florida Commission on Offender Review decides parole and specified conditional-release matters. Those roles are different. Florida largely ended parole for crimes committed on or after October 1, 1983, subject to statutory exceptions, so not every state prisoner has a parole hearing.

Use FDC’s supervised-offender search to read the exact status, supervision type, dates, circuit, and office. Circuit 8 serves Levy County. An absconder label reports a loss of contact or noncompliance; it is not a new conviction and does not prove the person is now jailed. The Levy County parole and probation page explains the local verification path.

Levy Release Alerts and Locators

VINELink can search a specific person in a participating Florida agency feed and register notice of a custody change. Save the reporting agency, last-update time, and exact status, then confirm the event with LCSO or FDC. VINE is not a permanent release archive. It also does not cover BOP, ICE, or U.S. Marshals custody.

For federal prison, use the BOP Inmate Locator. A past release date with no facility, or a Released or Not in BOP Custody status, shows the person left BOP custody. Another jurisdiction or federal supervised release may still apply. ICE’s locator covers current custody and a limited recent-release period. An LCSO entry saying released to ICE means transfer, not community release.

Levy County ICE Release Transfers

A 2019 LCSO and ICE Warrant Service Officer agreement documents a local handoff method in which a scheduled criminal release could become an ICE custody transfer. It permitted continued physical presence at LCSO for no more than forty-eight hours absent a reimbursable agreement. The document is historical. Current participation was not verified and must not be assumed.

If an LCSO event uses transfer, detainer, or ICE language, search the ICE locator and contact the appropriate ERO field office as needed. A county departure ends only the county booking. It does not establish that immigration detention ended or that the person entered the community.

Levy Release Status by System

Use the tool built for the custody type and time period. A live roster is the wrong archive for an old release, while an FDC result cannot answer a jail-only sentence. Two-source confirmation is best when the destination is unclear.

Levy Release Search History Warning

Levy Forestry Camp once operated as an FDC and forestry work camp in Bronson, but it closed in 2012. Old directories and infrastructure lists can still surface its name. It is not a current jail, state-prison release point, or facility to call for a present search.

A second date warning appears in FDC’s April 2026 county-detention report. It displays Levy average daily population of 173 but marks the source “Date Reported 04/2018” and says Levy did not send standardized breakdown data. That is not a 2026 headcount. Likewise, LCSO’s published maximum capacity of 304 is a capacity figure, not current occupancy.

Levy County Release Systems

Levy County has one verified current county detention facility, plus state, federal, and immigration systems that can receive or track people after the county booking ends. The county jail page covers LCSO releases. FDC pages cover state prison and supervision. BOP and ICE pages handle separate national custody systems.

Note: Police departments can make arrests, but the arresting agency is not always the agency that holds or releases the person.
